CORPORATE FLIGHT DEPARTMENT TRAINING

BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) 2022

The Canadian Drone Institutes consulting program will ensure you do not invest in a compliant training company today that cannot take you into the future of BVLOS operations in Canada in 2022 forward.

The future of the Drone industry in North America is in what is called BVLOS Operations (Beyond Visual Line of Sight).

Our Advisory Board is composed of current and retired flight Instructors with Transport Canada and the Canadian Armed Forces. Our Instructors have the combined pilot in command flight experience of over 19,000 flight hours in IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) conditions, the RPAS or Drone equivalent of flying in BVLOS.

Greg Davis, the Founder of The Canadian Drone Institute currently has the privilege of being on the RPAS Task Force Committee in Ottawa called RTMAT. The RTMAT committees mandate is to recommend how Transport Canada will approve commercial Drone operators to fully integrate into Canadian controlled airspace alongside Commercial operators such as Air Canada, Porter and Westjet.

Transport Canada intends to approve risk assessment in Beyond Visual Line-of-Sight (BVLOS) operations for Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) in late 2021, beginning with lower risk operations. Transport Canada is considering leveraging the Specific Operational Risk Assessment (SORA) process by the Joint Authorities for Rulemaking of Unmanned Systems (JARUS) to serve as the basis for the methodology to approve routine operations.

For operations that fall outside of the Part IX regulatory requirements, the department intends to adopt the SORA concepts to create a methodology that recognizes Canada’s unique airspace environment and low population densities in Canada’s remote and rural regions. This will enable lower risk BVLOS operations, and allow BVLOS operations over 25 kilograms outside of populated areas under a SFOC.

The Canadian Drone Institute has created a Corporate Training and Consulting Department for companies who would like to set up their own Advanced Drone flight department.

Reduce your dependence on 3rd party Drone operators is not only a good financial decision, it also allows your drone Team flexibility in operations and securing the exposure of your confidential data

The Canadian Drone Institutes Flight Department set up program includes consultation support over the years as new Regulations and changes to existing regulations come into effect.
